Hi,
BOINC manager reports message from SIMAP:
"You used wrong URL for this project"
"The correct URL is http://boincsimap.org/boincsimap"
Thanks!!
Tom
Hi Matt!
Well, I tried to remove the project and reattach, but that was a no go. So now it affects my work.
I hope you'll fix the URL next year
Happy New Year - and THANX for your great work!
/Mickey
I'm running SIMAP, too; and seems ok on my machine (?).
I wonder: when you removed+reattached: did you do so via the GridRepublic website, or via controls at in your desktop software?
Well, it did run ok; but I tried to remove through GR and reattatch via GR. But it might be due to communication problems to the SIMAP-server?
Thanx again for your effort!
I notice that the "problem" is solved. It did interfere before as in "not getting new work units".
Thanks!
Curiously, we did not change anything (yet)... But there is an issue, and we'll update the address when we post the long-promised batch of new projects.
Meanwhile, one thing to keep in mind: SIMAP is a bit different from many other projects. They often go for long periods without any work to distribute. Then they'll get a batch and be busy for a while, then it will stop... So "getting no new work" from SIMAP is not necessarily an error condition...
Anyhow, glad all is ok for the moment; thanks for your contributions, and sorry for any complications.
Stay tuned for some good stuff in 2011 ~
still getting wrong url on SIMAP can yo fix it http://boincsimap.org/boincsimap/
thanks
I don't check Boinc (or GR for that matter) on a daily basis. I did notice that my boxes processed a bunch of Simap tasks.
Coincidence or did you update the link?
Despite the error report in the desktop software message log, the old address does still work. (The error message is really more of an advisory.)
(*I am not 100% sure if new users can add the project at the moment; but old users can, for now, continue without issue.)
Thank you for the reply.
