What about updates on gridrepublic ?

It seems that the site does not evolve since a long time.

I searched for aqua@home on gridrepublic, and i saw a post created in april, saying that maybe aqua@home would be included in a next update....

Well we are in november....

Does the team need volunteers to maintain and update gridrepublic ?

No, GridRepublic is most assuredly not dead.  In fact, it has been an eventful year ~

We spent most of the spring, summer and so far much of the fall developing and releasing Progress Thru Processors, a Facebook app for volunteer computing, in partnership with Intel.

This is a very exciting development; it brings substantially all GridRepublic functionality into Facebook.  But it was a lot of work and has taken up all available resources this year.

Nevertheless, by the end of the year we will get to the promised updates here at gridrepublic.org (which remains the functional core of the Progress Thru Processors app also).

Having said this, we are most certainly in need of volunteers, most notably in the following areas:

  • Fundraising (seeking donations and grant writing)
  • Writing (primarily project description blurbs and project articles)
  • Tech support (ie, helping users here in forums)
  • Development (primarily PHP, MySQL, Flash, and Drupal)
  • PR/Outreach

Please post here if you are interested in any of the above.

Thanks ~

I volunteer for writing blurbs and articles.

So these updates??? I'm particularly interested in GPUGrid.net which is still listed as PS3Grid but does not work in the standard BOINC client since the WUs are for a PS3. The PC version is active and working well but not listed in GR so we can't keep an eye on it like we can our other GR projects.

well, the update is still in progress.  shouldn't be much longer.  weeks, not months.

if you're up for contributing project descriptions, that'd be great --

take a look at the main "Projects" article in the documentation, and scroll down to the section labeled "Other Projects (to be added/considered)": here you can click through on any unlisted project to add a description.  (the most important part of each description is the intial 1 - 3 paragraphs, these will become the blurbs seen on the main "Projects" page.)

for some hopefully useful guidelines about writing articles, take a look at this page

if you write anything, pls post back here.

thanks ~
