I have been a long time user of first seti@home and then boinc. Unfortunately, I used several different email to create accounts for the various projects. When I created my GridRepublic account, I used yet another email address. I would like to merge my old accounts into the GridRepublic umbrella, but I have been unsuccessful. I have scoured the GridRepublic web site for instructions on how to do this. I have also tried to change the email address on my project accounts to match the one I use for GridRepublic. I cannot do this because GridRepublic has already computed duplicate accounts using that address.
Any suggestions?
Merging accounts with different emails is not, as you note above, supported at the projects. And we don't have a feature to do this. This would for us fall into the category of technically possible (to a limited extent: ie, for display within GR only), but a fair amount of work (ie, expensive). To date it is not a commonly requested feature...
Ken, the only other thing I can suggest would be to again change all of your email addresses at the projects directly, as you were doing, but instead of changing them to match the GR email, change them to something that you have not used for GR. Then you can create a new GR account with that email and import all of your projects as they will all have the same email address.
That seems to me to be the cleanest way to do it, if you have another address you can use, of course.
