Hi,

I started using Boinc  and ran Seti and Milkyway, but wanted to run the stuff from WorldCommunityGrid too and [I might have missed it], but it didn't seem like Boinc alone offered me that choice. I then installed the WCG version of Boinc not knowing that it's going to completely override Boinc Original and it seems I've lost some work, including one of those Astropulse multi-day monsters... I am a bit sad about that, BUT be that as it may:

1. The original Boinc (if I can call it that) offered me the option to cap the total amount of download and upload bandwidth used a day. This Gridrepublic version doesn't.

I'd like to be able to cap the amount of down- and uploads as I only have access to a capped line at work and share it with 11 other people (Boss likes it like that for productivity reasons).

2. I see no CUDA based tasks downloaded for Milkyway (Seti = offline again) now that I'm here on Gridrepublic and the GPU settings are missing. Is this something that runs through the original Boinc only or will GR get these options too or does GR later detect my GPU and adjusts things accordingly?

We'll be updating the GR desktop software shortly (this month).  Meantime, the latest version of BOINC will have a few mor preference settings, and also supports GPU compting, which ours does not.  (Both these will be addressed when we update.)

In the meantime, you can use the latest version of BOINC with GridRepublic.  After install, don't attach to any projects.  Instead, use the tools > "attach to account manager" feature.  When asked by the "attach" wizard, specify the address www.gridrepublic.org, and the email + PW you used to register here.
